The biggest private parking lot and the biggest public parking lot located in the Israeli city of Ramat Gan in the northern West Bank city of Beit Sahour are the two largest parking lots in Israel.
They have cost an estimated $20.6 million to build and are situated near the city’s main airport.
The two-year project was approved in 2012 by the municipality, and it is one of the largest such projects in Israel’s history.
The $20m project included a $1.5 million parking lot with an underground tunnel and a large parking garage with a 1,000 parking spaces, according to a statement from the municipality.
It is estimated that between 2,500 and 3,000 people will use the area, which is located about 40 kilometers (25 miles) south of the city.
A statement from The Hebrew-language Haaretz newspaper said that construction began in February 2016 and is scheduled to be completed by mid-2019.
Construction costs are set to increase over time, the newspaper said, adding that the estimated construction cost will reach $40 million.
Construction on the parking lot began in 2011 and the first building was completed in October 2017, it added.
Israel is a country where large private and public parking lots are often built, with the former having a greater concentration of people and parking lots.
