How do you make a nice and sturdy restrip for your driveway, garage, or car?
I know it sounds ridiculous, but we do it all the time.
In this article, I will share with you the easy and practical steps to make one.
Here’s what you’ll need: A piece of scrap metal from the floor of your garage or garage shed.
A piece from the inside of your car, truck, or van.
A bit of wood from your garage.
A few pieces of chain saw lumber.
A couple of screwdrivers.
And some wire cutters.
Cut your pieces of scrap material into pieces, then trim the pieces in a few places so that they fit together.
Drill two holes in the pieces to get them to fit together nicely.
Secure your pieces in place with the two screws holding the pieces together.
Attach your two pieces of wire to the two holes and screw them together.
The next step is to get your restrip ready.
Drill a hole into the outside of the scrap metal pieces.
Screw them in place.
Slide the wire over the piece of wire.
Slide your piece of chain to the hole.
Attached the wire to a bolt on your saw.
The restrip should look like this: The last thing you want to do is to add more than one piece of wood to the restrip.
The wood will separate, and you’ll end up with a big mess.
I’ll leave you with this picture of my restrip: The next time you’re looking for a restrip, I would suggest you check out our article on how to make a DIY home barbecue restrip that looks and works great.
