LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Disney is planning to open a new theme park in Los Angles, which includes Disneyland, its biggest park in the world, with plans to open by the end of 2020, Disney spokeswoman Amy Schulman said on Monday.
Disneyland is currently under construction and will be completed in 2019.
The park will be a collaboration between Disney, Walt Disney Imagineering, Universal Studios Hollywood and Pixar.
It will feature new characters and environments created for the theme park, Disney said.
Schulman declined to elaborate on the theme of the park, but the park will include attractions like Disneyland, Mickey’s Fantasyland, Adventureland, Epcot and Disney California Adventure.
She said Disney was interested in the park “to help people learn about what makes Disney special and how it relates to a broader theme park experience.”
The Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando opened in 2012 and has since become the most popular Disney theme in the United States with 4.3 million guests.
