When a parking garage in the church was shut off last month due to flooding, a parking lot attendant from a nearby church stepped in to help.
The parking lot at the Cathedral of Saint Anthony and St. Anthony was not accessible, so a parking attendant from the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oakland got to work.
The St. Paul’s Cathedral, where the church is located, has a lot of parking lots.
The parishioners were able to use them for parking.
“We were able as a church to get it back up and running,” said Matthew O’Brien, a parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
O’Brien was able to park his car and take his son to the church on Sunday.
It took a while, but he got the car and drove out of the parking lot.
The parking lot is closed now, but O’Briens son, who was at church on Easter Sunday, was able, too.
“That was an incredible thing,” O’Connor said.
